President Trump has announced that he is stopping former president Joe Biden’s access to classified information and daily intelligence briefings. The decision was made public via a statement on Trump’s X account, and the White House’s social media platforms on Friday evening.

“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” wrote Trump.

The controversial announcement makes clear this is an act of payback to Biden for denying Trump access to details on national security after Trump was not re-elected four years ago.

“He set this precedent in 2021,” said Trump, who points out that it is normally a "courtesy" to keep former Presidents abreast of national security.

However, Trump takes the jab at Biden further by quoting a report saying “Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information.”

Trump ends the statement with the line that made him famous:

“JOE, YOU’RE FIRED” in trademark capital letters.
