In the wake of President Biden's decision not to run for re-election, the White House is pushing a stoic, near-heroic portrayal of Biden.
A new instagram post featuring a still of Biden at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office when he addressed the nation this week, is accompanied by a quote from the speech:
"History is in your hands.
The power is in your hands.
The idea of Amrican is in your hands.
We just have to keep the faith and remember who we are."
The caption for the post was simply, "Keep the faith."
In his address to the nation, Biden emphasized that the future of America and the ideals of Democracy are more significant than a single person or title, namely his.
Earlier in the week, another post confirmed the news of his decision to stand down. The caption noted that President Biden will not accept his party's nomination of him as candidate for the presidency — a far more dignified way to explain that he has, in fact, lost the confidence of voters and has dropped out.
