Biden says Kamala “will take the country in her own direction” as president

"She’s been loyal so far, but she’s going to cut her own path," says Biden.

President Biden spoke recently about how Kamala Harris will “cut her own path” should she win the November 5 election — and transition from being Biden’s loyal Vice President to becoming the President of the United States herself.

“Every president has to cut their own path,” said Biden at a political event last week in Philadelphia.

“That’s what I did. I was loyal to Barack Obama, but I cut my own path as president. And that’s what Kamala is going to do,” he continued. “She’s been loyal so far, but she’s going to cut her own path.”

Biden said there’s still more work to be done while he is president, noting that he and Kamala have “specific plans” for the remainder of his term, including lowering the cost of housing, childcare, and eldercare.

But he said that Harris will eventually take the country in her own direction — and he commends her for that.

“And that’s one of the most important differences in this election. Kamala’s perspective on our problems will be fresh and new,” he said.

Biden listed the areas that Harris will tackle to grow the economy and cut the deficit, such as making it easier to start and grow a business, while lowering costs for healthcare, and making the southern border more secure.

“Donald Trump’s perspective is old and failed and, quite frankly, thoroughly, totally dishonest,” said Biden.
