Shincheonji Church of Jesus' “Highest Half-Year Growth Rate On Record”…Forecast to Surpass 300,000 This Year

[Cheonji Daily=Reporter Sookyeong Kang] Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Chairperson: Man Hee Lee) recorded its highest half-year growth rate yet. Given this explosive growth, the church forecasts that the number of its congregation members will exceed 300,000 by the end of this year.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus recently reported the growth rate of its domestic (Korean) and overseas churches and provided detailed analysis of the Zion Mission Center through its ‘July's Wednesday Assembly Report’.

According to ‘July’s Wednesday Assembly Report’, a total of 34,558 people (27,711 in Korea, 6,847 overseas) have registered at the ‘Zion Mission Center (Mission Center)’ run by Shincheonji Church of Jesus in the first half of this year (January-end June). This represents a 2.3 times increase on the first half of last year, which recorded 14,834 (9,683 in Korea, 5,151 overseas).

Moreover, the number of people registered in Zion Mission Center at the end of June was 156,315 (141,737 in Korea, 14,578 overseas), which is 18.4 times more than last year’s figure of 8,488 (7,175 in Korea, 1,313 overseas).

Therefore, the total number of registered students is 190,873 with analysis expecting the figure to surpass the '100,000 Zion Mission Center Graduates’ goal set earlier this year.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus stated: “When we consider the timing of graduation from the Zion Mission Center, we estimate the total number of congregation members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus to reach 300,000 by the end of this year. We are going to build even more centers because we forecast a great number of students gathering into the centers in the second half of this year, on to next year.”

This figure doesn’t only reflect quantitative growth.

One must complete Zion Mission Center's six-month Bible study course in order to enter Shincheonji Church of Jesus. If one's rate of attendance falls below 90% or one scores less than 90% in the introductory, intermediate and advanced exams, then it is compulsory to retake the course.

Therefore, completion of the Zion Mission Center course and registration as a congregation member of Shincheonji Church of Jesus is actually the reality of entering through the ‘narrow gate’.

In particular, Shincheonji Church of Jesus established its ‘Internet Zion Mission Center' (www.eduzion.org (http://www.eduzion.org/)) in early May 2019 for people unable to listen to its offline lecture. It is reported that 10,589 people registered for the Internet Zion Mission Center, which runs as a small group video lecture, within the first two months of its opening.

A representative of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “Explosive growth is possible because congregation members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus can become Bible instructors. When we consider that people can enter the church only after completing the six-month Bible study course, the growth of Shincheonji Church of Jesus will be seen as a force of great change within the Christian world.”
