[Daily Cheonji=Reporter Hye-ji Lim] The Wonju branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group held a wall painting event for about a week from 12th of May in which they expressed their earnest desire for peaceful unification.

The Wonju branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group held a wall-drawing event under the theme "Peace" with some 60 volunteers, including Child and Youth Support Group, Vietnam War Veterans Association and Korean War Veterans Association.

"There should be no more war on this land," said Wonju branch leader of Shincheonji Volunteer Group. He explained "We held a wall painting activity in the hope that the world peace will be achieved as well as the free and peaceful unification of the two Koreas, which will become one."

Mr. Won (71, male), a member of the Vietnam War Veterans Association of South Korea who participated in the painting, said "As pretty people paint pictures with a pretty heart, the village seems to be peaceful, and furthermore, Wonju City and South Korea are peaceful." And he delivered impressions, "Thank you to the volunteers."

Mr. Park (72, male), a member of the Korean War Veterans Association of South Korea, said "The country is noisy these days. As spreading the culture of painting a nice picture on the wall like Wonju with the theme of peacewidely, I hope that the day will come soon when the South Korea and North Korea can become a free and peaceful unification."

Meanwhile, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group has been carrying out volunteer activities, including the Pink Cloth Delivering warmth (a side dish volunteer), environmental purification, aesthetic service and Door2(to)Door Healthcare. According to the Shincheonji Volunteer Group, it has so far conducted painting volunteer activities on a wall covering a total of 352 kilometers across the country.
