[Daily Cheonji=Kang Sookyung reporter] The Shincheonji Church of Jesus the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji Church, Chairman Man hee Lee) actively volunteered to serve the local community and communicated with citizensaccording to their growth this year.
On December 31, according to the Shincheonji Church, the church has been trying to become the light and salt of the society since the number of believers has increased by tens of thousands every year. In addition, the Shincheonji Church has focused on correcting the image that has been distorted by the Established order and Christian media and making the true story known in particular this year.
According to statistics from the Shincheonji Church, about 145,000 believers volunteered this year, benefiting some 130,000 underprivileged people. This is the total result in the way where the Shincheonji Church divided volunteer work by beneficiaries such as the elderly, disabled, and multicultural families and by the activity fields such as blood donation, cultural events, and the environment, etc.
In particular, the number of volunteers nearly doubled from the previous year (79,000), suggesting that the number of believers who participated in volunteer work is increasing rapidly.
As volunteer work has become more active, the government and the local community have given a large number of commendation.
The 12 tribes of the Shincheonji Church received 166 awards this year. The church received a commendation from the Minister of Public Administration and Security, the Governor of Gangwon Province, and the Mayor of Daejeon Metropolitan Area for their community development and received plaques of appreciation from local members of the National Assembly of Gwangju, Cheonan and the East Sea and from the Mayors of Cheongju, Seosan, Iksan and Gumi.
In addition, the Shincheonji Church actively conducted various events to communicate with the local people, including 'Open House' that invites local residents to the church.
The Shincheonji Church said "The residents who attended the Open House resolved all misunderstandings and agreed to participate in various events and activities."
Meanwhile, the Shincheonji Church made efforts to distinguish truth from falsehood through the 'doctrine comparison' event, comparing words with other orders.
A total of 278,000 people nationwide participated in this year's doctrine comparison event. Among them, 94 percent answered, "the word of the Shincheonji Church is right," proving that the word of the Shincheonji Church is excellent.
The Shincheonji Church emphasized "This year, we recorded a high growth rate. In order to share this with society, we tried hard to do volunteer works and to show the true nature of the Shincheonji Church by preaching the right word. We, Shincheonji Church, will communicate more and become the light and salt of the society."
